About Me

Hi, I'm Jane Robey. I’m a novelist, living in beautiful Norfolk, in the East of England.

I’ve written stories since primary school, but I'm a perennial quitter. it wasn't until I took early retirement from the NHS in the summer of 2020 that I finally finished a book-length novel. Enforced lockdown removed all my excuses and forced me to stop procrastinating.

Since the beginning of 2021 I've been querying my novel (provisional title 'The Kindness of Strangers') with agents, while working on my second novel, featuring some of the same characters.

As well as being a novelist, I'm an avid reader, a Rome lover, an Italophile, a late bloomer, a recovering worrier, a would-be-hermit and a lifelong member of the non-pretty working classes.
